“As If”

“You’ll experience far more success in all areas of life when you dwell in a sense that your goal has already been achieved.” ~Martha Beck

“You cannot manifest what you want, you can only manifest what you already have.” ~Eckhart Tolle

Abraham-Hicks often talks about how the only reason we ever want anything is because of how we think we will feel when we get it. They suggest practicing feeling “as if” we already have what we want, and then taking the actions that are inspired from that state.

If we’re truly feeling the feelings of already having “it”, the action we take doesn’t feel like struggle. We can actually enjoy the process of working towards the goal because we’ve already given ourselves what we really want–the feeling.

Whereas,  if we take action from a place of feeling the lack of what we want, the action will almost certainly feel struggle-y and…because of that, it will be action that’s not sustainable and ends up draining our energy.

In fact, they often emphasize that no amount of action can make up for a misalignment of energy.

But the biggest mistake people make when trying to feel and act “as if” is doing so in order to get what they want.

“Wha???” Isn’t getting what we want the point? Well, actually, no. The real point of feeling and acting “as if” it’s already done is Being who you really are–aligning with the deeper part of yourself. That thing you want–it’s really just an excuse to focus yourself into alignment.

If you’re practicing feeling “as if” in order to get the thing you want, it’s very likely you’ve still got neediness/attachment around the desire. Oh, and nothing acts like a repellent to all things you want like attachment/neediness. So, the key is, focus on the feeling of already having it purely because of how great it feels.

Now, what does this version of you feel inspired to do?

“Your frustration is not because you are not getting what you want. Your frustration is because you are not Being who you are.” ~Abraham-Hicks
